Beginning of this year I set out to really venture out and explore new opportunities. I began going out for brunch with new friends that I met in Atlanta and exploring what the city had to offer. The semester was off to a great start for me as well. I started to experience myself as an adult for the first time in my 20s. I really looked forward to having a great Spring Break and when it got extended for another week I was happy. I just didn't think that I wouldn't be returning to campus for seven months and counting.
Let's talk about how the rest of Spring 2020 was a complete mess! Not only was there a big adjustment in class structure and teaching but also life in general. By the grace of God I finished to the best of my ability but I also felt intimidated. This virus has taken over our lives this year and from lack of proper leadership it may even take our part of 2021. I send my condolences to those who have lost anyone due to COVID-19. The mistreatment of how to handle this virus has really shocked me because we could've beat the virus.
Now that we have that out of the way...we can't continue to complain about things not being "normal" if we aren't doing what is necessary to beat this virus. Having extravagant and lavish events that aren't following proper guidelines issued by your state will not get us back to "normal." I am very transparent so I will say that I miss being out in public with friends or even having the option to go to Walmart at all times of the night just because it's 24 hours. However, we need to change as things are changing because that is the only way we will be able to move forward. In the meantime, I'm going to continue scrolling on social media and watch you all go out and have your fun like we aren't in the middle of a "panoramic." #respectfully
